YouTube Raises Prices for Premium and Music Subscriptions in the U.S:

YouTube has announced a new round of price increases for its subscription services, including YouTube Premium and YouTube Music, impacting users across the United States. The individual YouTube Premium plan will increase from $13.99 to $15.99 per month, while the family plan will rise from $22.99 to $26.99. Meanwhile, YouTube Premium Lite—offering ad-free viewing for most non-music content—will go up from $7.99 to $8.99 monthly.

For YouTube Music, the individual subscription will increase from $10.99 to $11.99 per month, and the family plan will move from $16.99 to $18.99. According to YouTube, the updated pricing will apply to both new and existing subscribers. Current users will be notified via email at least 30 days before the new rates take effect.

The company stated that this is the first price adjustment since 2023 and is necessary to maintain service quality, support creators and artists, and continue offering key features such as ad-free viewing, background playback, and access to a vast catalog of over 300 million tracks on YouTube Music. YouTube previously raised subscription prices in July 2023, when Premium increased from $11.99 to $13.99 per month and YouTube Music rose from $9.99 to $10.99.

Despite the higher costs, the platform continues to grow. As of March 2025, YouTube reported approximately 125 million subscribers across its Premium and Music services, up from 100 million the previous year.
